Lo scorso giovedì 17 ottobre Erasmus Student Network Trieste ha partecipato alla presentazione dal titolo “Le opportunità di mobilità educativa transfrontaliera per i giovani”.

L’evento, organizzato dalla nostra associazione di volontariato in collaborazione con Europe Direct Trieste, si inseriva all’interno degli Erasmus Days 2024 (14-19 ottobre), una ricorrenza annuale che celebra il programma Erasmus+ dell’Unione Europea e che ESN Trieste sfrutta proprio per promuovere tra i giovani le mille opportunità di mobilità internazionale.

Ai saluti istituzionali di Kristina Valencic a nome di Europe Direct Trieste è seguita un’introduzione di Rita Puligheddu, Presidente di ESN Trieste, e poi varie testimonianze di nostri volontari e volontarie che hanno svolto un periodo di mobilità: chi dall’estero viene a Trieste per poi decidere di rimanerci, come nel caso della studentessa tedesca Giovanna Lauer, e chi da Trieste parte per l’estero, come Alice Delben e Luca Masiello.

Tutte diversissime tra loro, le testimonianze, moderate da Margherita Giordano, avevano alcuni elementi in comune: l’entusiasmo per l’esperienza vissuta, la certezza di averne tratto una crescita personale e accademica, e la raccomandazione a coetanei e coetanee: “non abbiate paura, buttatevi anche voi, non ve ne pentirete”.

Ma gli interventi non si sono limitati alla mobilità per studio: è infatti intervenuto anche Enrico Armenia, un giovane triestino che ha vissuto numerose esperienze all’estero – dal Corpo Europeo di Solidarietà, alla mobilità con EURES, all’Erasmus per giovani imprenditori.

Erasmus Days: promoting international mobility opportunities

On Thursday, October 17th Erasmus Student Network Trieste took part in a presentation titled “Transborder educational mobility opportunities for youth”.

Our volunteering association organised the event in collaboration with Europe Direct Trieste for the Erasmus Days 2024 (14th to 19th October). The Erasmus Days are held every year to celebrate the Eramus+ programme of the European Union, and ESN Trieste takes the chance to promote the many international mobility opportunities among youth.

The institutional greetings delivered by Kristina Valencic on behalf of Europe Direct Trieste were followed by an introduction by ESN Trieste’s President Rita Puligheddu. Afterwards, our volunteers talked about their mobility periods, moderated by Margherita Giordano: some of them came to Trieste from other countries and then decided to stay, like the German student Giovanna Lauer, and some of them left Trieste for a few months to go abroad, like Alice Delben and Luca Masiello.

Although their stories were very different from one another, they all had something in common: enthusiasm for their mobility experiences, the certainty of the personal and academic growth that came with them, and a piece of advice for their peers: “Don’t be scared, dive into the experience, you won’t regret it”.

Speeches were not limited to mobility for studies: Enrico Armenia also talked about his many experiences abroad, such as the European Solidarity Corps, mobility with EURES, and Erasmus for young entrepreneurs.
