The University of Trieste (Italian: Università degli Studi di Trieste, or UniTS) is a public research university in Trieste, a city located in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, Northeast Italy. The university consists of 10 departments and offers a wide range of courses. UniTS has about 15,000 students and 1,000 professors and it was founded in 1924.
